About Us
Environment Montana Research & Policy Center
Clean water to drink and clean air to breathe; healthy lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that don’t pollute and never run out—all this should be the heritage we leave to future generations. Our staff research the issues, educate the public, and win tangible results.
About Us
Research
Investigating problems and crafting solutions
Finding global warming solutions. Extreme weather events lead to loss of life and billions of dollars in economic damage. What’s more, scientists predict that global warming could increase the frequency of such events in the future. Our report, “Global Warming and Extreme Weather,” shined a light on what could become “the new normal” if we fail to avert the worst effects of global warming.
Education
Educating the public and making our voices heard
Preserving our wild forests. More than 50 million acres of America’s national forests, including parts of Beaverhead-Deerlodge, still remain untouched and unspoiled. When our forests were threatened by logging and new roads, our research and education helped win a temporary halt on destructive activity on millions of acres of America’s most pristine forests.
